Ever wondered what it'd be like to give up the Cookie Clicking business and push a square in your living room for money? How about the feeling of a dance party as people push a square for you while you take over the world? Well, if the answer to either of those was yes, you've come to the right place!
Push The Square is a semi-idle game where you start off as a lonely square pusher and businessperson and slowly build up your money and prestige by going to work and investing your money in pushing a square. Why? We don't know either, but as you push the square more and more, people will become interested in you as a person and allow you to unlock things like a party, becoming the president, and a rug for your house (finally).
(A third paragraph is usually added here to talk about bugs/glitches/dislikes, but this was just an honest idle game that you can beat pretty quickly)
All in all, this game was a great example of an idle/clicker game not needing to be overly expansive in order to be fun or entertaining. With a run time of about 10 minutes (some people have beaten it under 5), you'll get a good laugh out of pushing a square :)
Bruh. This actually. This actually has the material and shit to be a full on steam/Xbox game. Or even a full fledge speed run material run. This is good. But I need more. But for real. This could be expanded to a 3D or bigger 2D with Prestiging
Decided to go through the comments and make a doc with every screenshotted/recorded run. Decided against the text because while most are truthful I think it takes away from the goal if false comments are allowed to slip in. Was super fun to look at and hopefully someone, myself or not, can continue to push the record. I doubt we will see a sub 2:30 but I still feel we could see at the very least a 2:37.
Def have explored here and there, still can't find anything viable to get there. Without a TAS (tool assisted speedrun) I do not think sub 2:38 will be found any time soon without brute forcing every possible option. The big thing holding the record back is scrolling the upgrades. Because only so many can be displayed at once no matter the device deminsions, scrolling is needed for certain upgrades. This scrolling holds back being able to do any possible combination without sacrificing time. I'm sure there is some way to get sub 2:38 but 2:38 isn't consistent even with the current route. I find I get more 2:39s with the WR route which means the 2:38 was most likely the best time with the current route.
but jokes aside great game especially when the music came in
i wonder are there any more short games where it starts off slow and normal but after you progress everything becomes faster even your own progress and just devolves into chaos

Very interesting seeing how low the record has gotten. Good luck with getting a sub 2:38 if you're still trying.
